Introduction to Roasting

With the help of the instructor, you will learn the basics of green coffee, roasting theory, and how to safely roast coffee on small machines. Students will practice roasting on a home roaster and experience roasting on the Hive roaster while learning how changes in temperature, airflow, and time affect the final result.
During this two-hour class, we will cover green coffee selection, the stages of roasting, how to read a roast curve, and what to look for when evaluating a roast.
By the end of the class, you will have a better understanding of how roasting influences flavor and body — and you’ll take home a bag of coffee roasted during the session.
*Just a heads up, if you happen to cancel, a 15% fee will be applied. And if you need to change your class time, there's a small 5% fee for rescheduling.
